How it works

Noos combines AI card generation with the most advanced spaced repetition algorithm available. Here's the full study loop — from your first card to long-term mastery.

01

Create or import a stack

Start by creating a flashcard stack for any subject — a language, an exam, a skill, or a concept. Build cards manually, let the AI generate them from a topic or text, or import an existing public stack shared by the community.

02

Study with active recall

Each session presents cards one by one. You try to recall the answer, flip the card, and rate how well you remembered it — from "Again" (complete blank) to "Easy" (effortless recall). This retrieval practice is what builds durable memories.

03

Let the algorithm schedule reviews

After each rating, the FSRS algorithm calculates exactly when you should see that card again. Cards you struggle with return soon. Cards you know well are spaced out over days, weeks, or months — keeping them sharp without wasted effort.

04

Track your progress

Your dashboard shows your review streak, upcoming cards, and memory retention across all stacks. See which cards are due, in learning, or fully memorized — at a glance.

05

Share and explore

Every stack can be made public and shared with a link. Anyone can browse or study your cards without signing up. You can also explore stacks from other Noos learners and import them directly into your library.

Under the hood

Powered by FSRS

FSRS (Free Spaced Repetition Scheduler) is a state-of-the-art open-source algorithm developed from decades of memory research. Unlike older systems like SM-2, FSRS models your individual memory curve — not just population averages.

This means the schedule adapts to you: how fast you forget, how quickly you recover, and how well certain types of cards stick. The result is fewer wasted reviews and deeper, more reliable retention.

Common questions

Do I need an account to try Noos?

No. You can browse and study any public stack without signing up. You only need an account to save progress, create your own stacks, or unlock AI generation.

How many cards should I review each day?

Noos adapts to your pace. Even 5–10 minutes a day is enough to make meaningful progress. The algorithm ensures you only see the cards that matter most on any given day.

Can I use Noos for any language?

Yes. Noos supports multi-language card creation and AI generation. Whether you are learning Mandarin, Spanish, or Russian, the app works natively in your target language.

Is Noos free?

Noos has a generous free plan. Premium features like unlimited AI generation and advanced statistics are available on paid plans.
